Thin Wheat Crackers

1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
salt for sprinkling

1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2 Stir the dry ingredients (except for the salt for sprinkling) together in a medium bowl.
3 add the wet ingredients and stir until just blended.

Do the following steps in batches, the amount of cracker dough you use in each batch will depend on the size of the baking sheets you use.

4 On a lightly floured surface, roll out some of the doughas thin as possible -- no thicker than 1/8 in.
5 place dough on ungreased baking sheet - trim dough to fit on sheet if it is hanging off the sides.
6 mark cracker sized squares out in a grid on the dough with a knife, doing your best to not cut all the way through.
7 prick each cracker with a fork a few times and sprinkle with salt.
8 bake in the preheated oven until crisp and brown. baking times can differ depending on the thickness of the crackers.
9 when cool, remove from baking sheet and separate into individual crackers.
